Thanks Canadian Quilters Blogathon (see details and links to bloggers here) for lighting a fire under my butt! It has been a long time since I posted anything. Suffice it to say that not a whole lot of quilting has gone on lately and the bit of quilt work I have done is mostly for Christmas so I can't post about it until after the holidays.
Meanwhile, though, I finally completed one of my many Oink-A-Doodle-Moo Quilts (with 4 more to finish). And here it is. I just finished the binding this afternoon!
This quilt used less that one charm pack of the oink-a-doodle-moo line of fabric, some coordinating yardage, and some beautiful, soft red minky on the back. I plan to gift it to a baby boy and hopefully I get it to him before he gets much bigger. I didn't quilt it on my own machine because I've had trouble with minky before. It seems to build up static when sliding against my plexiglass surface and it's all I can do to push and pull it through my machine, resulting in terrible stitch lengths and mostly an overall horrid experience. So Lynnette long-armed it for me. It finished up at 42" x 54". The design is one that evolved on its own. I didn't use a pattern.
I'm a little disorganized right now but I intend to pull some items from my stash for a giveaway for one of the commenters on this post. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks, Flo (Butterfly Quilting), for including me in your list of bloggers!
It's so nice to see wee Andrew so happy with his new quilt! His Mom, too!
